My attention has been drawn to the hullabaloo elicited by a controversial letter which flamboyant Students Organisation of Nairobi University (SONU) chairrman – my friend Babu Owino – wrote to US President Barack Obama earlier this week.
In the letter, Babu warns Obama of dire consequences if the world’s most powerful man does not visit The University of Nairobi – East and Central Africa’s top learning institution.
However, I personally feel that even if President Barack Obama does not visit the UoN (my alma mater) as @POTUS, little will be lost. After all, he sufficiently drank from the fountain of knowledge way back in 2006 when he went to the institution as a junior Senator.
Therefore, he now has a right to distribute that wisdom to other colleges and universities.
However, if he feels that the wisdom he previously acquired has considerably reduced, then he is free to avail himself once again at the centre of excellence and as expected, his intellectual thirst will be quenched.
Otherwise, welcome to Kenya @POTUS. You will ultimately be thrilled by this land of possibilities!
